Project Overview

Ocean Edge Hotel will be designed in a 4-storey block with rooms and amenities. The hotel design will be an infusion of traditional and modern architecture design that reflects the Island’s image and its international product and service offerings. The rooms will all be oriented towards the sea and will consist of a presidential suite, 3 executive suites, 27 oceanfront rooms along with an array of amenities to include spa, games room, fitness center/gym, conference room and 2 restaurants. A pier will be constructed on the waterfront to facilitate marine lifestyle and boating experiences. The addition of a roof top terrace and bar on the main building will provide outdoor entertainment and fine dining option, an important feature for the high end clientele, corporate groups, and hosting of private events.

The site can be accessed via land and sea, which makes it appeal to a niche tourism segment such as yachtees and private boat owners. While the site is on the outskirts of the city, it offers easy walking access to the city for business activity, restaurants, and other attractions. The development location makes it a suitable get away for vacationers, business travels, sports visitors or to accommodate persons wishing to utilize the hotel services. Construction will be undertaken by a company with several years’ experience and the construction techniques will incorporate renewable energy, as part of the company’s green initiatives and its adherence to its environmentally conscious philosophy of being energy efficient, as well as climate resilient. Dominican architects and engineers will also be employed to provide local technical coordination of the project. The development will be completed within 3 years of the signed agreement with the Government of Dominica.

The development will contribute directly and indirectly to the economy during the construction and operation phase of the hotel. This will include the provision of 80 jobs during construction and at least 50 jobs during the operational phase of the hotel, as well as the Company’s contribution to payment of Social Security, Inland Revenue Division, purchase of items in stores, payment of custom duties, among others. Ocean Edge Hotel will be designed in two blocks consisting of 4-storey building containing 30 guest rooms designed for single and double occupancy, and a 2-storey block that will house the hotel’s amenities and other ancillary facilities. The two blocks will be connected via the ground floor through the lobby and lounge thereby giving a seamless feel of one continuous building. An elevator and stairway will serve all floors.
